As a part of CivicAction’s Re:Action Initiatives, Digital Dish was launched to connect people virtually over a meal or coffee/tea to generate new thinking on what the Toronto region’s social and economic recovery could look like and share their ideas back with CivicAction.
From April to June 2020, 120+ people registered to host their very own Digital Dish in addition to almost 300 people that attended a Digital Dish with a regional mayor. Armed with a toolkit full of hosting tips, discussion questions and ideas on how to help our region’s most vulnerable, residents played a key role in helping CivicAction develop its response to the COVID-19 crisis.
Interested in hosting something similar? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for a copy of the toolkit.
Participants submitted a short report back their Digital Dish. This input was part of a larger data collection that helped to shape the key questions discussed at CivicAction’s Re:Action Forum held on June 11th and 12th.
As a part of the Emerging Leader Network’s #ELNonline, CivicAction also connected rising leaders to important decisions in our region through Digital Dish Town Hall’s with both Toronto’s Mayor John Tory and Mississauga’s Mayor Bonnie Crombie. Watch the recordings below.
