CGI proactively encourages mental well-being

At CGI, our dream is to create an environment in which we enjoy working together. With over 10,000 employees in Canada, we recognize that there are employees who either are currently or will experience a mental health issue at some point in their life. In May 2016, we launched the CGI Mental Health Month where various initiatives take place to support mental well-being at the individual and organizational level.

More than 5,000 of our employees, who we call members, participated in the activities and fund raising initiatives offered. We were proud to be able to give back to the community by donating the funds raised to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

As a result of this program, our leaders are now better equipped to recognize signs of psychological risks in their teams and open a dialog to support members in need. Our members have learned the importance of de-stigmatizing mental health to create an environment that fosters peer support and have also discovered ways to be proactive towards with their own mental well-being.
