The OneCity plan is taking the transit discussion past grand vision to the all-important question of where the money will come from, says the Toronto Board of Trade and the Greater Toronto CivicAction Alliance.
A plan with a serious financial strategy behind it is worth welcoming.
“We’re really pleased to see a plan connecting planning with funding, and we need to have an adult discussion around that,” said Mitzie Hunter, CEO of CivicAction.
But both organizations want to know just how OneCity’s proposed subway and LRT lines will mesh with the Metrolinx regional transit plan, The Big Move, which they say is crucial to the economic development and prosperity of the GTA and Hamilton area.
