Rod Phillips, the former chief executive of Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., and current chairman of Postmedia Network, has been appointed the new chair of the Greater Toronto CivicAction Alliance, filling a position that has been vacant since February, when John Tory stepped down to pursue the Toronto mayoralty.
An official announcement from CivicAction, best known these days for its “Your 32” campaign to draw attention to the need for increased transit funding, is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
“It’s a great mix of policy with activity,” said Mr. Phillips in an interview. “You listen and then you help define the issues that the region cares about.”
