At Lakeridge Health, we believe that a workplace that fosters both physical and mental health supports our vision of Excellence. In 2017, we began delivering Mental Health First Aid Training to our leaders through the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Skills enable recognition and early intervention for team members who may be experiencing mental health problems. Today, all members of Lakeridge Health’s Occupational Health and Human Resources teams are certified; and we have three members who are instructors. The program is raising awareness of psychological health and enables leaders to recognize signs of a mental health problem through a change in behaviour, productivity, or absenteeism and how to provide supports.
