CivicAction Forum: Our Region, Our Move

Read the CivicAction Forum report: Our Region, Our Move.

CivicAction thanks all the individuals and organizations who contributed to the success of the CivicAction Forum: Our Region, Our Move. Together, more than 300 civic leaders made their move to support the city-region’s growth and prosperity for generations to come. Photos can be found on CivicAction's Flickr page.

On May 16, CivicAction delivers the advice of 300 CivicAction Forum delegates to Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area elected officials and Metrolinx. The delegates’ advice is meant to guide Metrolinx as it finalizes its Investment Strategy to fund the rest of The Big Move regional transportation plan, and to guide the Province and heads of municipal councils on accelerating investment in the GTHA’s regional transportation network.

Thank you to the sponsors who made this event possible.

What Would You Do With 32?I Pledge To Get A Move On
Over the last several months, CivicAction has been hearing from a wide range of Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) residents about the cost of your daily commutes, and it’s become strikingly clear: congestion and gridlock are taking a toll on our economy, our environment, and our quality of life.

During the first phase of the campaign, you told us what you would do with an extra 32 minutes in your day--now it’s time to show us what you would do for your 32.

We’re calling on residents and elected officials across the GTHA to tackle gridlock by pledging to “get a move on”.  We want your support for new dedicated ways to pay for a better transportation network – ways that are, efficient, transparent & accountable, regional, fair, and sustainable. Sign the pledge at your32.com and let’s get this region moving.

Your support is critical. Elected officials need to hear from you, so they know that GTHA residents are ready to be part of the solution to our congestion crisis, and that the time for action is now.

Metrolinx has submitted its investment strategy to the Minister of Transportation and heads of municipal councils. It is important that elected officials hear from the public on the need to take action to build a better transportation network to fuel our region’s prosperity.

Please visit your32.com to sign this pledge, demand action on our congestion crisis from your elected officials, and invite friends and neighbors to do the same.
