CivicAction & York Region Elected Officials Stand Together to Support Transportation Investment

CivicAction and Mayors and Councillors from Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill will join together on Monday, May 13 to pledge support for new ways to fund increased transportation service and infrastructure so people and goods can move across the region more easily. The event will bring together politicians from across York Region, who represent a population of over 1 million.

Tackling gridlock is the number one local issue with residents of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. CivicAction launched the next phase of its Your32 campaign at its April CivicAction Forum to demonstrate that people are ready to be part of the solution to pay for a better transportation network.

The campaign invites residents and elected officials to pledge their support for new funding sources that are: efficient; transparent & accountable; regional; fair; sustainable; and dedicated to building the rest of The Big Move regional transportation plan.
